Our Team

Pamela Conti, Executive Director

Pamela has over 20 years of experience in the Safety Field as having been employed by the National Safety Council since 2005.  Previously, she managed the Office at the Chapter and was promoted to Executive Director by the Board of Controls.  She was also employed by Trumbull Industries for over 14 years in Office Management and Customer Service roles. Pamela is committed to our National Safety Council mission of saving lives by preventing injuries and deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the roads, through leadership, education and advocacy.

Lisa Antonini, Administrative Assistant

Lisa began working at NSC in June 2024.  She has 30 years of administrative experience in both the public and private sector.  Lisa is a lifelong Youngstown resident.

 

David Moore, Instructor

David has been teaching health and safety programs for over 40 years and has worked as a career Paramedic for over 30 years.  He has 20 years of service with NSC.

David is passionate about sharing life saving knowledge and skills and is grateful to N.S.C for the opportunity.

Victor Considine, Instructor

Victor D.  Considine is a Certified Environmental Safety Compliance Officer.  (CESCO)

Victor retired after 22 years in Environmental Management System Development, Waste Stream, OSHA CFR 1910/1926 (General Industry and Construction), Equipment Safety, EPA, DOT, Fire Safety, and Food Safety training applications with the Department of Justice.

Thomas Hill, Instructor

Tom has been an NSC Instructor since 2013.  He had a long career in the Columbus Fire Department and has extensive experience in Emergency Management Services.

Tom has experience as a Fire Safety Instructor for the Ohio Dept. of Public Safety.  He served as a Training Instructor for Columbus State University, teaching High Rise & High Hazard Building Safety.

Tom has received training and certifications from the US Dept. of Justice and the Homeland Security/FEMA offices.


Board Members

Christine Williams, President

Christine has been with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation for 30 years. She first served as an Employer Services Specialist, where she assisted employers in complying with BWC programs such as the Premium Discount Program and the Drug Free Workplace Program. She next served as the Regional Business Consultant in four northeastern Ohio counties, where she acts as a liaison between BWC and area employers, using her extensive workers’ compensation and technical expertise to assist employers in the development and implementation of effective risk management strategies.

Cheryl Altizer, Vice-President

Cheryl has worked for an Ohio BWC Managed Care Organization since 2008.  She is currently the Account Executive for Promedica Medical Management.

 

Michelle Johnson, Treasurer

Michelle serves as the Treasurer at Youngstown Community School with 25 years of experience.  She earned a Bachelor’s degree in education at Youngstown State University with a focus in accounting and a treasurer’s license.  Over the past 12 years she received the Auditor of State Award and the Auditor of State’s Highest Achievement over the past 3 years.

Michelle lives in Austintown with her husband and family pets.  She enjoys bowling, boating and enjoys travelling with her husband.

Ms. Debbie Baez, Secretary

Debbie joined the NSC Board in June, 2025.

She brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board, having 34 years of experience in the Industrial sector.  She worked for 15 years with Calex Corporation and currently has 19 years of work experience with Spectrum Metal Finishing.  She previously served as Executive Secretary to the President, office manager, accounts payable and invoicing.  Currently, she serves as the HR Manager, Group benefits administrator and the ISO Lead.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children and six grandchildren.  Debbie is also active in her church community.

Crystal Bulford, Member

Brian serves as the Safety Coordinator for Joe Dickey Electric.

Ken Kubala, Member

 

 

John Leseganich, Member

John has 32 years working for the U.S. Dept. of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), both in the “Compliance Sector” and later in the “OSHA On-Site Consultation Sector”.  He retired as OSHA On-Site Consultation/ Public Relations Coordinator.  John began his own private EH&S consulting firm called Independent Consultation Services, LLC in 2006 and provides services with a focus on occupational and environmental regulatory compliance.

Services include post-incident, accident investigation, Mitigation representation and Litigation representation.

Leonard Perry, Member

Leonard A. Perry has over 40 years of experience in environmental health and safety. ​ He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Youngstown State University, a Master of Public Health from A.T. ​ Still University, and a PhD in Health Sciences from YSU. ​ He retired in 2004 as Administrator Emeritus of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety at YSU. ​ Len has held various roles, including Manager of Microbiology and Director of Environmental Microbiology, and has developed certified laboratories. ​

Currently, he is an adjunct faculty member at YSU and a part-time instructor at NEOMED, teaching courses in microbiology, environmental and public health, and industrial hygiene. ​ He is also a state-certified instructor for HazWoper and CERT courses. ​ Len has co-authored publications and laboratory manuals in microbiology. ​

He holds numerous certifications in public health, safety, and environmental health, including Certified in Public Health (CPH), Registered Sanitarian (RS), and Certified Safety Professional (CSP). ​ Len is actively involved in community activities, serving on various boards and committees, including the District Board of Health of Mahoning County.   He has received several awards for his contributions to safety and public health. ​

Len is a member of multiple professional organizations and enjoys woodworking, identifying mushrooms, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. ​

 

Karl Roach, Member

Karl started his career at Parker Hannifan / Commercial Intertech in 1976 as a Customer Service Representative and went on to hold various positions in the Personnel and Safety Departments.  He retired in 2003 as a Corporate Manager for Safety and Security.

Following his retirement from Commercial Intertech, Karl served as Project Coordinator for Volunteer Services Agency / Hands on Volunteer Network in Youngstown.

Karl has been a longtime member of the National Safety Council Board of Directors.

Curt Speck, Member

  1. Over 30 years of experience in health and safety fields: Curt has extensive experience in analyzing, measuring, and resolving safety issues. ​
  2. President and CEO of Safety Resources Co. of Ohio, Inc.: He coordinates and oversees the development and implementation of corporate safety and health policies and procedures.   ​
  3. OSHA Instructor Certifications: Curt is certified to teach OSHA 500 & 501 courses for Construction and General Industry, and has received multiple instructor certifications. ​
  4. Comprehensive Safety and Health Services: He conducts safety and health inspections, accident investigations, on-site sampling for toxic chemicals, and consultations for safety and health management, specializing in ergonomics and loss control.
  5. Teaching and Training Expertise: Curt is certified to teach a wide range of safety and health courses.

Mr. Mark Sitch, Member

Mark joined the Board in June 2025, and has served as corporate Safety Director & Manager of Environmental, Safety, & Health Operations since 2004 in both manufacturing and the oil & gas industries.  He is a certified Environmental Safety and Compliance Officer (CESCO) through the National Registry of Environmental Professionals (NREP), also holding industry certifications with OSHA, the Construction Safety Council, Safeland USA, and now serves as an industry liaison for the NERP.

Mark has held several years of instructor stats with the Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and served as a communications correspondent, an instructor and veteran first responder for the NE Ohio Lake to River chapter of the Red Cross.  He also served as a member on the safety boards for the Ohio Oil & Gas Association (OOGA), the Ohio BWC Safety Congress Oil & Gas committee and the OOGEEP State Safety Committee after completing nearly a decade of service on the Board of the Mahoning Valley Safety Council.

Mark resides in Poland with his wife Lori and two sons Luke & Blake.

 

Randi Tucker, Member

Randi is a Business Development Manager with over 8 years of experience in the staffing industry dedicated to driving business growth in our region. She previously worked at AllStaff Careers in North Lima, Ohio, where she specialized in business-to-business sales, and  cultivating strategic relationships with local manufacturers and businesses to meet their staffing needs.

Her commitment to client satisfaction and operational excellence has been recognized through accolades, such as AllStaff Careers being named Alliance Chamber Large Business of the Year in 2023 and listed among the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S.

Randi also worked as a Staffing Recruiter, attracting top-tier talent and ensuring seamless fits between candidates and client requirements.

Additionally, she served in managerial roles at Michael Kors and Oakley.

Randi enjoys a good challenge and is committed to delivering results through a people-centric approach and a focus on operational efficiency.
